Eighty-eight hallowed ground to execute a bow. According to auspiciousness it started when Gyoki sensed the vision in this land and built a thatched cottage and trained. Later on, Kobo Daishi who returned from Tang said prayers and austerities for the Kokudo Bosatsu Gumonjiho (ascetic practices for having a good memory in esoteric Buddhism) in a rock cave at Taizougamine, founded a temple, carved a sitting statue of Bhaiṣajyaguru and enshrined it. Also the priest's staff of three countries gifted from Keika Ajari in Tang was stored and determined as the place where the vow is completed. Women have been allowed in the mountain quite early on and it also flourished as the Josi Takano.
