The mountain hallowed ground is located where the Kiho hits against the heaven, and the temple is nestled among the middle of a huge rock. When Kobo Daishi visited this sacred land, there was a woman who was called Hokka hermit, but she was amazed at the prayers and austerities of Daishi and conceded the whole mountain to Daishi. Daishi carved a wooden and stone Acala and did a homa prayers and austerities for the whole mountain for Acala as a principal image. Precinct is enveloped in dense natural forest, with many wild birds, and is rich in rocky peaks and flora and fauna landscape. The Taishido is designated an important cultural property of the country, and the temple area is a scenic beauty of the country.
