Anraku-jiHistory and origin of

With a hot spring from the old days, this historic site is where the good effects of hot spring cure has been transmitted by Kobo Daishi. In the Momoyama Period, Hachisuka Iemasa, the founder of the Awa clan, determined this as "Ekiroji" and put facilities for Shikoku pilgrims and travelers to provide accommodation, and tea. Since then, the pilgrim's lodging of this temple has 400 years of history, and the public natural hot spring bath is even now very popular with the pilgrims. The "Sakamatsu" planted in the garden by Daishi is renowned as an amulet pine warding off evils.
