No. 59 Kinkozan Kokubun-ji

Kokubun-jiHistory and origin of

When it was first founded, it was 150m west of the current temple and from the layout of the cornerstone we can estimate that it was a princely structure. When the 3rd generation priest Tomonori was in charge, Kobo Daishi made an extended stay here and offered the "Five Great Wisdom King" image and his disciple Shinnyo (? ~862?) also stayed for two years, and copied a part of the "Lotus Sutra" and offered that as well.
Old tiles and numerous cultural assets are stored.
