Yamauchi is famous for the blooming cherry trees 300 to 400 years old, and has continued to attract flower viewers from the Edo period. Kobayashi Issa, a poet from Edo, read his poem "This certainly is worth climbing for, while cherry trees".これでこそ 登りかいある 山桜 It is said that Gyoki opened the temple, on the imperial prayer of Emperor Shomu (reign 724~749) in order to realize the representation of Miroku in paradise. Afterward it was visited by Kobo Daishi where he carved and enshrined the principal image of the Eleven-faced Kannon. In addition, he built a triangle homa platform and is said to have said prayers and austerities for "secrets of prayer homa". The principal image here is collecting the faith as good luck and warding off evil Kannon and easy delivery Kannon.
