No. 67 Komatsuozan Daiko-ji

Daiko-jiHistory and origin of

It is fondly known locally as Komatsuo-ji. It is said that it started when it was built for Kumanosanshogongen protection as a branch temple of Toda-ji. Although it is now a temple of the Shingon sect, it has an unusual history where Shingon and Tendai, the two sects were studied together and the Kobo Daishi hall to the left of the main hall and the Tendai Daishi hall where the third founder Chigi of the Tendai sect is enshrined are reminders of the history.
