No. 36 Tokkozan Shoryu-ji

Kobo Daishi studied esoteric Buddhism at Shoryu-ji in Tang, and to return the favor by building a temple in Japan, he threw a Tokosho towards the Eastern sky. After returning, Daishi sensed that this Tokosho was in this land when he was on a preaching tour. It is said he founded a temple and named the temple Shoryu-ji. The Namikiri Fudo Myoo statue is deeply revered by the people for voyage safety and good catch, and calming the rough seas of the world.
