Fujii-deraHistory and origin of

Kobo Daishi was attracted to the pure mountain stream surrounded by mountains, and in Konin year 6 (815) performed a homa ritual in this area. Purifying himself from evil, and praying for the well-being of the people, carved a Bhaiṣajyaguru statue and established a temple. Because it is said a 5 colored wisteria was planted in front of the temple, it was referred as Kongozan Fujiidera. Even now the wisteria blooms in five colors from the end of April to early May.
