No. 21 Syashinzan Tairyu-ji

Located near the 618 m altitude summit of the Tairyu-ji, and is also known as "West of Takano". When Kobo Daishi was 19 years old, he trained for Kokudo Bosatsu Gumonjiho (ascetic practices for having a good memory in esoteric Buddhism) on a rock called "Shashintake". This is the most difficult training where the mantra is recited 1 million times, and had a great influence on the formation of concept during Daishi's adolescence. The mountain is Shashintake, the temple name is named after the Tairyu (big Dragon God) who protected Daishi during the training.
