The only temple in the Shikoku hallowed ground that is called "Bou". When sovereign Ochi Tamasumi who is said to be the founder of the Iyo Navy built the Ooyamazumi Shrine on Omishima in the Seto Inland Sea, also built the separate temple for the 24 bous. Later on Gyoki, for 8 of the bou referred and worshiped them as "Japan total tutelary sight of Mishima". It was totally destroyed during the fire caused by war of Tensho, and only Nanko Bou was revived as a separate temple for Betsumiya. The precinct has become a place for exploring for many of the citizens and a number of monuments and memorial monuments for people such as Matsu Basho, Yamada Seido, and Oda Shisei.
