No. 86 Fudarakuzan Shido-ji

Shido-jiHistory and origin of

It is old, having been founded in Suiko year 33 (625) and is one of the best ancient temple in the Shikoku hallowed ground. It is said this temple started when marine skill group Amazoku Ooshisonoko carved the Eleven-faced Kannon with a sacred tree and built a temple. Later, Fujiwara No Fuhito erected a tomb for his wife and named it "Shido dojo". His sonFusasaki extended the temple together with Gyoki, and it flourished as an academic dojo. There are many things to see, the Nio (or Kongorikishi) gate, main hall, gardens and such.
