A quiet ancient temple in the Goshikidai of Shiromine. Kobo Daishi placed Cintamani on the summit of Shiromine, and dug a well, and praying for the savior of sentient beings, founded a temple. Later on, Chisho Daishi who is said to be the son of Daishi's younger sister, found a light shining on top of the mountain and climbed the mountain. It is said that after receiving a divine revelation from Shiramine Daigongen, the Mountain God, he carved Senjū Kannon using a sacred tree, and made this the principal image. To the north is the imperial tomb of Emperor Sutoku. Received protection of the Takamatsu Matsudaira family.
