No. 28 Hokaizan Dainichi-ji

Dainichi-jiHistory and origin of

Kongokai Dainichi Nyorai sitting statue, the principal image that is said to be the work of Gyoki Bosatsu is about 146cm high, and is a parquetry work, and among the largest in Shikoku. The Kannon standing statue at the side of the Buddha is said to be a work by Chisho-daishi and is about 172cm tall. Both have been designated as an important cultural property of the country. In addition, "Nail carved Yakushi" which is said to have been carved on the camphor tree by Daishi is said to be miraculous to disease above the neck, and has attracted cordial faith.
